I really enjoyed this recipe, I made a batch of whole wheat and a regular batch. I did not have a bread machine so I just used my mixer and kneaded it for about 15 minutes, then I let it rise for another hour or so then I cut and twisted and let rise for another hour, I followed all the ingredients except I only used 1 tab. of sugar and I used regular flour for the regular one's and whole wheat flour. The wheat seemed dry so I added a couple teaspoons of olive oil and the regular one's where really sticky so I added a little extra flour. I baked for about 10 minutes then brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with cheese and baked for another 7 minutes. They were really yummy.

These were super easy and really good! I halved the recipe and made the recipe by hand instead of using my bread maker. I was always told that garlic put into the dough would keep it from rising... well no problem here with the garlic powder. After baking, I brushed with a mixture of butter, garlic powder and parsley flakes. These were WONDERFUL!! Thanks for sharing Marie!

"They are so yum," says 6 year old Joel. We've made several times now -- and this recipe gets credit for introducing me to self-rising flour, which I used the other night and made the breadsticks softer and lighter. Instead of Italian seasoning, we use about 1/2-1 tsp. each of dried basil and oregano and dump in extra garlic powder. With the self-rising flour I recommend reducing salt. Son made the right size. I rolled mine too big and when they doubled in size, my DH said they were like small loaves of bread! Yummy and easy to make -- requirements for a "perfect, 5 star" recipe.

Just great! I used 1/3 whole wheat flour. We will definitely make these again. My kids would have eaten more than two each if I had let them. So glad to have a good breadsticks recipe.
Thanks!

These are FANTASTIC! I made them last night for our Italian dinner and we loved them. My niece and nephew came over and they ate about 3 apiece. Thank you for this great new food item we will make often.

These were pretty good breadsticks--light and soft! Brought for a girl's night out dinner with friends where they were enjoyed. Quite easy to make with my breadmaker. Although I will say mine did not look nearly as pretty as the picture! :) Have the other half in the freezer to pull out to complete a quick weeknight Italian meal. Edit to add: They freeze well!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
Did I mention my love for this recipe? I seriously think this recipe it so yummy.
Taste great with Absolute Best Ever Lasagna, Absolute Best Ever Lasagna
Sometimes I like to take them out a minute early, brush them with the butter and Parmesan (sometimes a touch of dried parsley for color) and put them back in to finish cooking. The cheese is even better that way in my opinion. Thank you Marie

I was hoping for a light soft breadstick (like Wings n Things for those of you in SoCal)... These were ok, similar to the pizza dough recipe I use often. Thick and heavy. I'm a bread head, so I can't complain too much - But not my favorite recipe.

Perfect 5 star bread I added a little extra seasoning and alot of extra garlic powder cause we love our garlic in this household. So soft it melts in your mouth. I used just plain flour instead of bread flour and served this with 'French onion soup' the pair together were just amazing TY Marie for a fantastic recipe, will be keeping this one.

Excellent and very easy to work with! I accidentally added a TBSP of ranch seasoning, thinking it was italian seasoning. After I noticed what I had I done, I added the italian seasoning and some extra garlic powder. They were great! So, if you want ranch breadsticks I say go for it!

They had an interesting flavor, but nothing compared to the spectacular reviews everybody else made. I don't know how they got theirs to taste like Olive Gardens. That would be a real treasure.

I really hope this dough freezes well, I only baked half the bread sticks and froze the other half. The dozen I baked came out great! They smell so good even in the bread machine!!

Delicious! I will be making these often. Prep time was a little off for me though, as my bread machine’s dough cycle is 1 hour 40 minutes.
