Soft Drink Jelly

"I took another recipe and changed it to suit my taste and to offer more choices of flavors. I have made this recipe many times and each time it comes out perfect. I hope you enjoy the results as much as we do. Cream Soda, Orange, Mello Yello and Strawberry are our favorites so far."

Questions & Replies

  1. Why can't you use Diet sodas for the jelly instead? And substitute the sugar for the equivalent amount of splenda.... will it set?

  2. What is "Inversion method"?

  1. Easy recipe to follow and the results were great. I used Sundrop because that is what was requested but I can see that the possibilities are endless. Will be using this recipe again. :) Recipe made 3 half-pints with a little extra for tasting.

  2. As a first time jelly maker I found this recipe super easy to follow! For my 'soft drink' I chose root beer soda...and it turned out really tasty! It's quite delicious with some brie on a cracker, or on a biscuit with some butter in the morning. It made 7 - 4oz jelly jars for me...all but two have been given away. I'll be experimenting with different soft drinks as I will most definitely be making this again....and again...and again!

  3. This recipe actually made jam and not jelly. Please change the description to represent this so nobody falls for this trick again. 1 Star.

  4. I doubled the recipe and used Dr. Pepper. Insanely good.

I am a busy mom of one. I started my own business in 2004 which actually allows me to work less hours and devote more time with my son. Its a lot less stess too. In our spare time, my son and I love to go fishing. I love to make jellies, bake and read romance novels and cookbooks.
