These are soft and melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookies. I always double the recipe since they don't last long in this house.

  1. Cream margarine.
  2. Add gradually and beat in brown sugar and white sugar.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Sift and stir in flour, salt, baking soda.
  5. Add chocolate chips.
  6. Bake 10 minutes at 375.

These are way too salty! And I had a problem with the chips falling out after I baked them, something I'd never had happen before, and they weren't real "fluffy", making them break fairly easily. I did use all white sugar as I was out of brown, maybe that's the problem. But if you can get past the salt, they were delicious - my family certainly had no problem eating them! And they were perfectly soft, and had just the right amount of chocolate. I'll certainly be trying this again, just with less salt and with brown sugar.
