This sauce is the basis for most Puerto Rican dishes. Since it is usually used 1-2 tablespoons at a time, it's easiest to make a full batch and freeze the rest.

  1. Blend all ingredients into a smooth sauce in the blender, adding water (at little as possible) as needed to keep the mixture moving. Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays for later use.
