  1. Add all ingredients to a large soup pot.
  2. Bring to a boil slowly.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Check the seasonings and serve warm.

I loved the fact that it uses veggies and simple prep. I followed the recipe exactly and it was a little bland. So I added seasoning salt, pepper and chili powder. These additions helped alot. I also used turkey ham that I had in the fridge. We're having leftovers tomorrow night. Thanks for the recipe!

This is a pretty tasty soup! I had everything on hand , always a plus , and the weather is bitter today ... it's a great cold weather soup! Might be considered a bit 'bland' by some tastes , but we aren't incredibly adventurous when it comes to spicy or anything , so this fits us just great. Very easy to make , served with some artesian garlic bread on the side. Thanks for posting!
