We all have these ingredients in our pantry. I love the tast of professional icing not the store bought stuff, so I asked around and here is what a lady that's been making cakes for years uses. And it is so easy and really good!!
- 2 lbs powdered sugar
- 2 1⁄2 cups shortening
- 3⁄4 cup water
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla extract or 1 1⁄2 teaspoons almond extract

- Add salt to the water.
- Mix shortening & powdered sugar together, add the water a little bit at a time. Continue to cream until you get the consistency you like.
- Add the extract a couple drops at a time until you get the flavor you like.**This recipe makes alot of icing, so refrigerate what you don't use.
