  1. If using black beans,drain and rinse first.All others go in the pot undrained.Mix all in soup pot.
  2. Bring to boil.
  3. Simmer 2-3 hours.
  4. Note-may use 14oz turkey sausage or chicken,in place of diced turkey.Also may use any combination of beans,northern,black,white,pinto or 3 cans of one kind.

I still have this on the stove, but I just tasted it and it's pretty yummy. I did add minced onion, red pepper flakes, garlic and some parsley. I used ground chicken because I had already defrosted it and green split peas instead of yellow and brown rice instead of barley, because that's all I had. It's very hearty, like a chili almost.
