Snow Ghost Chocolate Cream Pie

Cut from a women's magazine many years ago. As I remember, it was an American recipe and the title had some significance. Maybe someone here can enlighten!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • one baked pastry shells (9-inch)
  • 14 cup white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup hershey's cocoa
  • 13 cup cornstarch
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 12 teaspoons vanilla
  • sweetened whipped cream (to garnish)

Directions

  1. Combine cocoa, sugar, salt and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Gradually blend in milk, stirring until smooth.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until filling boils. Boil for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Pour into pie crust.
  4. Carefully press cling wrap directly on to pie filling. Cool then chill for 3-4 hours. Garnish with whipped cream.
