Snickerpoodles (dog treats)

My 13 year old daughter made this as a Christmas treat for our dog.

I made them a little differently, I mixed the wet ingredients seperately and all the dry ( including cornmeal) together then blended it all together, I wanted a treat I could roll and cut so I had to add about an extra cup of flour, I also substituted sugar for the honey, (honey around here is very expensive). I rolled and cut them and my dogs are going crazy for them and I have everything from a golden ret. to a malteese they're pretty good.

  1. Mix oil, shortening, honey and eggs.
  2. Beat well.
  3. Add flour, soda and cream of tartar.
  4. Knead dough until mixed.
  5. Shape into balls of desired size.
  6. Mix cornmeal and cinnamon.
  7. Roll balls in mixture.
  8. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
  9. Press balls with fork.
  10. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
  11. Cool and store in airtight container.
