Every few bites, my teenaged daughter said, "Soooo good!" so I am giving it 5 stars. I used a can of plum tomatoes and cut them up as I didn't have diced tomatoes. The cream cheese makes the sauce and good bits of bacon, tomato and onion cling nicely to the pasta. I sprinkled some green onion as garnish and for some extra zing. Served 3 adults with no leftovers but we do have big appetites. I will probably increase the quantity next time. Thanks for a great recipe!

  1. In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crisp and brown. Transfer it to a paper towel lined plate. Pour off all but 1/4 cup fat from skillet.
  2. Add the onion and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until softened, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in the diced tomatoes, then crumble in the bacon. Season with salt and pepper; simmer, stirring occasionally, until thick and chunky, about 10 minutes. Stir in the cream cheese until melted.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and transfer to a large bowl. Toss with the sauce and serve immediately.
