So moist! We used this recipe for our Thanksgiving bird this year and I am so glad we did. Not only was it FUN but it delivered a very flavorful and moist bird. I had a metal tripod that is made for beer can chicken that I added to the beer can for extra support- which is sooooo needed! My turkey was not the smaller one called for but a 20 pounder! As you can see by the pics- it did fall! Well it sort of leaned rather than fell. Definitely use a roasting pan underneath in case yours does too. This saved me! Plus there is so much juice coming from the turkey you want something to catch it all. Dh wanted me to try to make a gravy from the drippings and it turned out wonderful. I thought the beer would not make a good gravy but everybody said it was the best turkey gravy they had ever had. I would definitely recommend this recipe not only for flavor and moistness but for fun memories!
