Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Spread

"Tangy horseradish flavours this smoked salmon cream cheese. Serve it spread on crispbreads for a cocktail party snack. You can definitely make this the night before. Enjoy!"

• Yields: 1 cup

ingredients

• 8 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
• 1 ounce smoked salmon, chopped
• 1 tablespoon fresh chives or 1 tablespoon scallion top, chopped
• 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
• 1⁄4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

directions

1. Blend cream cheese, smoked salmon, chives (or scallions), horseradish and pepper in a small bowl.
2. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Very tasty spread for crackers, or in my case, whole grain pumpernickel. This made a great lunch and will be nice with veggies, too, I bet!

This recipe is a keeper and perfect for when you need to whip up something quickly for unexpected company. I too thought the ratio of salmon to creese cheese was off but after letting it meld for a couple of hours it was spot on. Thanks for posting this! Made for World Tour 2010

This was so easy and was a big hit! I was initially concerned because I thought there was not enough salmon in the recipe and maybe too much cream cheese but the balance was actually perfect . The horseradish was a nice touch but was not overpowering and the chives added just the right touch. My company could not stop raving about it! This recipe is a keeper.
