Smiling Moose Deli's Phil E. Turkey

A delicious twist on a philly cheesesteak. Much better for you than the original but still packed with flavor. Although I don't to save time, you can warm the turkey in the pan with peppers and onions before assembling sandwiches.

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Preheat broiler on low.
  2. Heat a large pan over med-high heat and melt butter. Add peppers and onions and saute until tender. About 5-7 minute.
  3. Spread mayo evenly over the 6 hoagie rolls and add turkey.
  4. Top the turkey with peppers and onions, then top with cheese.
  5. Place sandwiches on baking sheet and place under broiler for about 2 minute or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

The name...the name is killing me! Split a sandwich with DH, each a cold glass of iced tea and a big slice of strawberry cheesecake on the side. Made for PRMR.

Absolutely divine! As the previous reviewer noted, this is better then a steak sub. The only change was I had to use mozzarella instead of provolone, because I apparently used the last piece of that on the sandwich I made for my DH this morning. I warmed the onions and peppers together and warmed the turkey a bit too. Oh yes, I used turkey pastrami too, but it was so good, I could of eaten more then a half, but alas ~ waited for DH to come home so he can enjoy it too! Perfect and quite lovely! Thank you! Mmmmm..this is so good. It made a great lunch for us today! I like this better than the philly cheesesteak. The mesquite smoked turkey with provolone is just so tasty together. I will definitely make this recipe again.
