Tried this for Fall PAC 2011. Delicious! We may cook ours a little shorter though as the shanks were pretty much obliterated! As were the onions. Beautiful smells eminated throughout the house the entire day teasing us until we enjoyed the meal with mashed potato and veg. Thanks Connie :)

Made this for hubby coming home for a few days from work. He told me to give it 5 stars. He loved it so much. I did 4 shanks and we only eat 2, so the rest where put in the freezer for another dinner. Love the taste. Thanks for posting.

Awesome!!! We love lamb shanks and have always tried new recipes, but always have gone back to one particular recipe. No more - this is now our favorite recipe! DH repeated all of the way thru dinner how much he loved these. Simple preparation and the house smelled wonderful. Thanks so much conniecooks!!

It was very tasty and juice. Cooked in a tray in the oven at 160 C for 3 hours. Juices turned into char but lamb was very nice

Amazing, only recipe I've ever rated. Better than high quality restaurant food. Entire family loved it and the gravy was to die for. I put small potatoes in the crock pot as well.

I made this w/ pork chops, was busy around the house and forgot many of the ingredients (thyme, bay leaf, tomato paste, mustard), and this still turned out fantastic. I added new potatoes and fresh mushrooms & served it with split, crusty bakery rolls to soak up the juices. Really excellent!

First time slow cooker user, absolutely delicious, used 5 large lamb shanks and whole can Guiness, was worried might need thickening but it didn't, used kitchen roll to soak up some of the fat when cooked, turned it off after 9 hours on high as meat falling of bone, will definately be making this again. Served with garlic mashed potato gratin and veg...........scrumptious !!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks :)
