These were great! My grocery store didn't have any canned sweet potatoes so I ended up having to use fresh ones. I just peeled, cut and boiled them first. It wasn't until much later that I realized that I had only put in at most 40 ounces of sweet potatoes. The recipe calls for 12 more ounces. They still turned out really well though! They were a bit "damp" but I am sure that was because of the shortage of sweet potato. I will make these again. Thanks!
These potatoes were a hit at Thanksgiving! Even the pickiest eaters enjoyed them. Thank you!!
I was wondering how I would cook my sweet potatoes since my whole oven was being used all day. This recipe definetely saved the day. I followed the recipe exactly, except I cooked them on medium instead of high. They came out great!
These are the perfect side dish for Thanksgiving! Not only are they delicious, but they free up valuable oven space! I also found these a little less sweet than our regular oven baked recipe...That is a GOOD thing! Everyone loved them. Thanks Lvs2Cook for giving me a new holiday favorite.
These were wonderful! I only made a couple of changes: I subbed pineapple juice for the orange juice, and I took the crock out and put ii in the oven with some mini marshmallows on top, and then forgot about them. All was not lost, however, They did not get burned, and since everyone else was full, I was the only one who tried any. I was kind of glad, because that meant that over the rest of Thanksgiving weekend, I got them all to myself. I will be making these far too often at my house. They are so good!
I was just gettting ready to post these myself! I love these sweet potatoes. The slow cooking enhances the creaminess and sweetness of the dish.I've also used fresh mashed in the recipe. Roxygirl in Colo.
