Slow Cooked Spaghetti Sauce

I found this recipe in quick cooking years ago and our family loves it :) I always add more spices than called for.. Hope you enjoy it!! :) I serve with a salad and garlic toast

This was a terrific sauce! My family loved it and I did too! It was the perfect consistency in the crock pot and I only cooked on low for 4 hours. I used Italian sausage and added bell peppers and mushrooms. I omitted the thyme and added majoram instead. I also added in a little Worcestershire sauce and red wine plus 1 extra can of tomato sauce (8 ounces). I added in a little fresh basil at the end and served it over thin spaghetti with garlic bread and a little minced fresh parsley on top. I will make this many more times!

  1. In a skillet cook sausage and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain. Transfer to a slow cooker.
  2. Add the next 10 ingredients and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until heated through. Discard bay leaf and serve over cooked spaghetti.
