Reviews

  1. Very tender and delicious! I think next time I will add the bbq sauce the last hour of cooking though, and drain some of the liquid off first. I found the sauce to be too watery for my tastes, but I will definately make this again! Even my hubby who normally doesn't like ribs thought they were great! Thanks for posting a great recipe!

  2. I'm not a big pork fan, but these looked to be so tender that I just had to try them. I can't have Masterpiece sauce because of the high sodium content, so I substituted homemade "Smoky Sauce for Ribs" and I posted the sauce recipe today.

  3. OUTSTANDING!!!! Who would have ever thought such a simple recipe could make such tasty ribs. But, it does. I have a 5 year old who is an extremely picky eater, but he tore into these like there was no tomorrow. A real winner. I can't wait to make them again. By the way, don't try to pick them up by the bone, it will just fall out......

  4. I cannot believe how good these are!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!! Soooo easy too! I never thought I could make ribs like this myself! Everyone was nuts for them!

  5. Mmmm Mmmm good!! Really easy and so tasty. I used a good homemade BBQ sauce and it sure did the trick. And you are correct Bethany, the meat does fall off the bone!! This simple recipe will be done again without a doubt!!

Tweaks

  1. I use a rub on the ribs, put 1 cup broth in the bottom and let them cook. We add the sauce at the table because we like different kinds. The rub is made with paprika, lemon pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, Kosher salt and some sugar. Mix it together and rub it on the ribs.

  2. WOW! Very, very good!!! I loved it some much that I substituted the spareribs with chicken breasts and they came out amazing as well! Thanks for sharing.

  3. I used Beef instead of pork and 2 portions of Mille's sauce recipe (http://www.recipezaar.com/Smoky-Sauce-for-Ribs-18917). I left the extra sauce instead of draining it as some suggested because I was serving it with noodles. I also used ribs off the bone so they cooked for less time in the crock pot.

  4. I read through the reviews but didn't feel like draining anything, so I left it as it was. I did use beef ribs instead of pork. I also doubled the amount. I was barely able to stuff 6 lbs of ribs into my crock pot, but it worked! I used two bottles of BBQ sauce and I did add a chopped shallot to the chopped onion as well. Either way, it turned out great. I fished out what we didn't eat and dumped all the liquid. Worked out great! Thanks!

  5. This was awesome! I used country style pork ribs instead of spare ribs. So tender and the flavor was amazing! I didn't find them to be watery, the juice was so full of flavor. So easy to make, I will be making these again and again.
