This is easy and so much better than the sloppy joe you buy in a can. Recipe is easily doubled and if you have any teen-agers around you'll need to double it!

  1. Crumble and fry hamburger over medium heat until no longer pink.
  2. Drain away any excess fat.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Stir and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until green pepper is soft.
  5. Serve over toasted hamburger buns.

Had this for dinner tonight, it was pretty good. Its a chunky and sweeter version of sloppy joes. My only complaints are that the splenda made it have an after-taste and the green peppers never really softened. So if I was to make it again, I'd use regular sugar (maybe only 1/8 cup) and I'd cook the peppers with the raw ground beef from the beginning. This recipe was very easy. Thanks for posting!

No more Canned sloppy joes for us! I used the mild diced tomatoes with chiles, since the little ones were eating. Threw in some chopped Vidalia onion- (it's just arrived here, and we love them). I was hoping for leftovers for lunch, but... no luck!! Thanks for a great kid-pleaser!
