  • Brown the meat, breaking it up, until all fat has disappeard.
  • Lower heat to medium and add the Hot Shot, salt, chili powder and flour.
  • Mix well to distribute the flour throughout the meat.
  • Stir in the tomato soup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar.
  • Continue to simmer and stir until thickened.
  • The longer you let it simmer, the better the flavors will bond.
  • It will thicken a bit more during cooling.
  • This feeds 5 good eaters.

  2. We really liked this spicy version of Sloppy Joes. It has more of a spicy Mexican flair than the traditional BBQ flavor. I reduced the recipe to only prepare half. I was unsure what the hotshot seasoning was so decided it was cayenne (red) and regular black pepper. I reduced the cayenne by half again and it was plenty spicy :O I served this with your potato salad recipe and a marinated cucumber salad. I would make the sloppy joes again. Thanks for sharing your recipe!
     
  3. An amazing quick and easy recipe - just what we needed for Sunday night dinner. I wasn't sure what 'Hot Shots' seasoning was so used a bit of cajun mix and chipotle chilli powder for an amazing smokey flavour. A keeper for us! Thanks!
