This recipe came from a magazine clipping, this takes the SLOPPY away from SLOPPY JOES.
- 1 1⁄2 lbs lean ground beef (at least 80%)
- 1⁄4 cup ketchup
- 1 (1 1/3-1 1/2 ounce) package sloppy joe seasoning mix
- 6 slices American cheese
- 6 hamburger buns, split
- Heat gas or charcoal grill. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ketchup and sloppy joe seasoning mix; mix gently. Shape into 6 patties.
- When grill is heated carefully oil grill rack. Place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4-6 inches from medium coals. Cover grill; cook 13-15 minutes turning once. During last one or two minutes place cheese on patties; cook until melted. Serve patties on buns.
These were okay... I really wanted to love them but didn't.
