  1. Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Cut in Crisco as for pastry until it resembles crumbs.
  3. Stir in enough hot water to make a dough almost the consistency of pie crust.
  4. Turn onto floured surface, knead briefly and then roll to desired thickness.
  5. Cut into squares.
  6. Slip into hot simmering broth one at a time.
  7. Simmer, uncovered, until tender about 15 minutes.
