I had a few problems in preparing this dish. The crust was very soupy and even though it rose I had to pour it in the pie plate. It did turn out fine though. My overall opinion was that the caraway was way to strong. I would cut the caraway seed in half next time. It needed a bit more salt but overall I was disapointed
This is a favorite of mine, I grew up with a Finnish family. This was absolutely amazing especially with melted cheese on the top. Thank you.
Great crust and great flavor to the pie. Used smoked turkey drumstick meat instead of the ham. A definite keeper. Thank you.
This was brilliant, really good and my own version was Approved By Finns too! Caraway seeds really add something. Didn't quite get the bread-pastry right (because my yeast had died, not because of the recipe!) Using yoghurt instead of sour cream doesn't seem to make much difference either. Kippis!
Absolutely delightful and really very easy. Iused melted butter and substituted plain yogurt for the sour cream. The dough was so easy and rose beautifully; the finished pie was a lovely sight and quite delicious.

Wonderful - totally wonderful recipe!! I made to the directions...used olive oil in the dough.I had no problems at all and the pie baked in 40 minutes. Oh boy I loved the caraway...it was quite subtle but went perfectly with the onions.The bread crust was great. I am so impressed with this recipe and will make it a regular on our menu.
