There is just the two of us, and a whole bowl of jell-o was just wasteful. I knew there had to be a way to make just a single serving from the dry mix, but didn't know what the ratio would be until I found it surfing the web. So for thoes of you who would like to know - here it is. I have also added the single serving of instant pudding as well. Cooking time is chill time for gelatin, the pudding is ready in 5 minutes.
- 1 3⁄4 tablespoons Jello gelatin
- 1⁄2 cup boiling water
- 2 tablespoons instant pudding mix
- 1⁄2 cup milk, cold
- For gelatin:.
- Mix dry mix with boiling water until dissolved.
- Chill until firm.
- For pudding:.
- Add 2 tablespoons dry mix to 1/2 cup cold milk.
- Either shake or stir the two ingredients together.
- Chill until firm (about five minutes).
Laura, I'm so glad you shared this. I cook only for myself most of the time and enjoy gelatin occasionally. This is perfect for one meal. I like to drain a fruit cup and add to the slightly thickened gelatin, also. Haven't yet tried the pudding, but plan to soon. Thank you.
I loved this, but mine seemed overly thick. I think I'll add more milk next time or decrease the tablespoons to 1 1/2 T of dry mix. Thanks for putting this up here! :)
Thank you!! I'm trying to be healthier by making single-serving desserts...so glad to have these measurements for Jell-O and pudding.
