YUM-O! Terrific recipe! I used Granny Smith apples and they blended perfectly with the cinnamon, sugar, etc. Thanks for posting!!
Scrumptious! I didn't have any cardamom so I used ginger instead. Also, I have deep dish pie pans and next time would use 7-8 cups of apples instead of 6. I will definitely be making this again, DH love, love, loved it!
Great tasting pie. My whole family really did enjoy this. The cardamon gave it that extra special touch. Thanks for posting this recipe.
This was my first apple pie ever and what a success! I used Granny Smith apples, it took approximately 8 to make 6 cups worth. I followed the recipe with exception to the sugar. I really wanted to offer my diabetic father a piece so I used Splenda instead. I used Tenderflake deep dish pie crusts which can be found in the frozen section. One day I hope to make my own pie crusts but Tenderflake's were fine. The pie itself smelled heavenly while baking and even more so after cutting myself a slice. There's something about the smell of tenderized apples and cinnamon that is inviting. When served with vanilla ice cream, it makes the perfect end to a fine meal. The apples were tender and not too tart and not too sweet. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I will most definitely make it again.
very good, will make again. it was just so easy!!!!!!!!!!
I made the recipe exactly but it had WAY too much liquid. It looked really nice, but not my favorite recipe.
Done well . Cheers
This is just like the apple pie I make. I cut out pastry leaves to decorate the top and I always use English cooking apples as I think the tartness of them goes so well with the rich sweetness of the ice cream. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention I eat the pie straight from the oven... always a case of "ummmmm" followed by "ow" and another "ummmm". A LITTLE TASTE OF HEAVEN! (I clicked on all the stars but it doesn't look as if it's coming up?)
Great pie Rita!!!! It was so easy, and yet it looked like I was a great baker!!!
I made this Pie as a New years eve party dessert & it went down a treat. I used 8 Graany smith apples & added lime juice as had no Lemon juice. I also adde the Rum soaked Raisons as you suggested & served it with thick cream. The pie had a great taste, thanks for sharing this recipe
