Very good. Used Granny Smith apples so skipped the lemon juice. With that variety of apples, this pie really is not very sweet, but I enjoy being able to taste the fruit in fruit desserts so it was perfect for us. We ate this straight from the oven and it wasn't runny, in fact this surprised me since I really should have let it cool. Some ate the pie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream which was yummy, too. Started this pie after I'd started dinner, so used a faster crust Pie Crust (Uses Oil) which I didn't prebake. The crust in this recipe is very similar to an all-butter recipe I use often so I'm sure it's very good. That crust really does benefit from chilling first, so given the time, I'd suggest doing so. Baked my pie an additonal 10 minutes. Thanks for sharing the recipe!!
An excellent apple pie. Possible the best I have ever had. Everyone loved it.
This pie was so delicious the taste was great! However it was really runny, it may have been just the apples I was using however, but next time I'll add a bit more flour or some cornstarch! Thanks for the great recipe!
This is one fabulous Apple Pie recipe. Thank you so much for sharing
I give this recipe 5 plus Stars. This recipe is one I use all the time, it seems to owrk out best for me. I just love it as does my family. Thanks for sharing this really good recipe.
Great recipe, only problem was i had too much filling for the pie crust - not such a bad thing though. If you don't have a pastry blender (like myself), just cut up the butter cold in to small pieces, and stir, and stir, and stir...
This really IS delicious! Half the sugar of other pies, but the taste is (in my opinion) better! I wonder what would happen if you brushed the top of the pie with milk before baking... This is definitely a keeper!!! :D
