This is one of the best and simplest cookie recipes out there. Soft in the middle and firm on the outside, these cookies are a tad denser than most. The short list of ingredients means you'll always have the required supplies on hand.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Microwave crisco for 60 seconds or until melted. Set crisco aside to cool. Beat two eggs in a large bowl. Add flour, sugar, walnuts, and crisco. Mix. Slowly add water and mix while adding. Dough should be thin, but not too thin--a little thicker than frosting. Add chocolate chips.
- Place heaping spoonfuls of dough onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes. Cookies will be brown on botom, but may have a shiny spot on top. Better to undercook than to overcook. Remove cookies from oven and place into freezer. Remove from freezer after 5-10 minutes and enjoy. Yields about 2 dozen 3 inch cookies.
This recipe is not a good one to use. The cookie dough is more like a cake batter. The cookies end up flat like pancakes, and they taste like sugar cookies with chocolate chips in them. I would recommend you find another recipe.
