How can something so good be so simple? This is nice, light and refreshing. I made this as written and garnished with sliced fresh strawberries. Toddler DS really enjoyed the 'pink ice cream.' I used fat-free sour cream and left it in a single bowl, serving from that (removed from the freezer at the start of a meal, just to soften enough to serve). The partial freeze took 2-3 hours in my freezer and yet the edges were frozen while the middle was still a bit runny. It was fine in the mixer nonetheless. We will be enjoying this many times, particularly in the summer. I might even try this with some other fruit. Thanks!

Very good! We liked it at the soft serve consistency best. I couldn't believe how easy this was and very tasty with the sour cream. Thank you for a great recipe.

Yummy! I used vanilla yogurt. So very good and easy to make! Made for the Everyone is Making the Same Thing Photo event.

So refreshing on a hot summer day! It was like a cross between a gourmet ice cream and sorbet. We loved it. I realized after I had added the strawberries that it was a 16 ox. bag instead of a 10 oz. one. It didn't seem to affect the outcome at all. I also used reduced fat sour cream with excellent results. Prepared for the "Everyone is Making the Same Thing" Challenge #2.

Excellent! I too felt it was more like ice cream then mousse only because of the temperature. However it is decadent enough to serve at your most special occasion. Made for the July 2009 Everybody is Making the Same Thing Challenge in the Photo Forum.

Rich, creamy and tasty! Bet you could use other fruits in this mousse. I felt like I was eating ice cream. Prepared as a participant in the July 2009 Everybody Making the Same Thing Challenge in the Photo Forum.

REALLY loved this. The only thing I did differant was cut the sugar down to 3/4 cup as we like the tart taste and then topped with fresh whipped cream and a strawberry and tossed in a couple of left over blueberries. Yum; bet this would be good with ANY frozen or fresh fruit - think I might try it with peaches next time. Made for Photo Forum event: Everyone-is-Making-the same-thing-challenge #2

I threw everything in the blender then froze it but had to borrow Yamakarasu's chisel! I left mine in the freezer till it was brick hard also. Everyone enjoyed though! Gonna try this with fresh blueberries next time. made for We're All Making the Same Thing.

Very simple and tasty! I used vanilla yogurt instead of sour cream and only used 1/4 cup of berry sugar, it turned out very nicely. I let the strawberries thaw a bit then coarse chopped them and then into the food processor added the yogurt and sugar, pulsed twice then into the freezer. I plan on making this again with other seasonal fruit. Made for the "Everyone is making the same thing" challenge in the photo forum.

Look, I just made my own ice cream!! Alright, I still need to actually finish the recipe; I was out for a while so the mixture froze completely the first time. So I still need to pull it out, let it thaw and blend it up better. I was impatient to do that though and chizelled my way into having a serving of it, haha. It was mighty tasty! I added just a touch less sugar, and it came out really well. Light, sweet and refreshing. Thanks for a great recipe!

I made this late a night to take to a potluck, but didn't have time to partially freeze and blend it again. It was a little hard after freezing overnight, but I let it sit on the counter for a bit and it softened up. I put it on top of a graham cracker crust, and it turned out SOOOO good. Like a popsicle pie. Mmmm.

I had 20 minutes before guests were coming and had no dessert ready,so I made this. I ixed everything together and just put it in the fridge. It wasn't quite frozen by dessert time, but that did not matter, it was gone 2 minutes after serving and received so many compliments. Simple, tasty and fresh.

When frozen firm, this is very much like ice cream! Neat! I love the idea that I can make my own fruit-flavored ice-cream and I know what is in it! I haven't tried it yet, but I bet other frozen fruits would be just as good! Splenda and fat free sour cream work just fine. I am thankful for Silent Cricket's contributions on Recipezaar. She will be missed.

I used lite sour cream and frozen strawberries that we had picked last spring. So easy and so good. I will be making this often.

This was excellent. I used fat free sour creme and splenda and it made a wonderful mousse. I particularly liked it right after it was whipped. With the fat free sour creme and splenda this works for the WW Core program but so definitely felt like I was getting away with something! Sweet and creamy at the same time. I'll be making this again.

So simple yet sooooooo good!!!! I used pre-sweetened strawberries and lite sour cream and this turned out great! Next time, I think I'll try strawberry yogurt,in place of the sour cream for an even bigger strawberry taste.
