  • Boil water, then add to pot with heat set to high. Add spaghetti. Add chopped tomato, mushrooms and seasonings to tomato sauce and heat on low in separate pot, covered with a lid. Once water comes to a boil in the pot, cook spaghetti for at least 10 minutes. Occasionally stir sauce. Drain pasta, add sauce, then capers. Add cheese if you want. Enjoy!

  1. I like the simplicity of this dish, but I love the flavor! I did alter the recipe slightly, as my baby bellas turned before I could get this recipe made. :( I love capers and they make a nice pairing with green olives, so I substituted the mushrooms with some jalapeno stuffed green olives I had in my pantry. I know it sounds strange, but the dish was very satisfying. I can't wait to try it with the bellas, as I'm sure it'll be an even bigger hit with my family! Thanks for sharing kellieanne18! Made and enjoyed for the Spring 2012 Pick-A-Chef event.
