"Only a few ingredients, but it makes a big fluffy loaf that looks and tastes store bought (except for the big hole in the bottom from the mixing arm!)"

  1. I do not believe it is possible to produce a loaf of bread from this recipe as it is written. Having quite a bit of experience making bread and dough in a bread machine, I was skeptical of the amount of water called for, but I tried it first as the recipe states. I ended up having to add at least another half a cup of water. After a lot of watching and adding more water to get a dough ball to form in the machine, it rose okay and the end result was a decent crusty bread. I liked the simplicity of this recipe and wanted to give it a try, but I don't think it's one I would make again.

Although my screen name is Chicago Clare, I should now really be "SW Florida Clare" since my dog, Gus, and I moved in 2007 after I married my wonderful husband. I'm enjoying being a newlywed and am finding that cooking is such a joy when it's not just for me! I went from cooking maybe once a week and going through drive-thrus the rest of the time to now where I am trying about one new recipe a week, and my husband even comes to this site to find new and exciting things for him to make for us. <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/adoptedspring08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket">
