Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325°F.
  2. Remove giblets and neck from turkey and discard (unless you need them for something else).
  3. Rinse turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
  4. Place turkey on rack in roasting pan and brush with oil.
  5. Mix together the dried parsley, rubbed sage, seasoned salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and nutmeg.
  6. Place 1 T of seasoning mix, bay leaves, and onion wedges inside turkey.
  7. Pat remaining seasoning mix over entire surface and inside skin.
  8. Add chicken broth to roasting pan.
  9. Cover turkey loosely with foil tent (shiny side in).
  10. Roast one hour, then remove foil (reserve for later).
  11. Roast another two to two and a half hours, basting occasionally with pan juices. If skin begins to get too brown, replace foil loosely over bird.
  12. Let stand 20 minutes before carving.
