- In skillet,on medium heat, cook meat until browned.
- Stir to crumble meat well.
- Drain fat.
- Put beef into 8" square baking dish.
- Add pizza sauce, then layer cheese.
- In medium bowl,combine milk, eggs,biscuit mix.
- Beat until smoothy.
- Pour mix over layered casserole, cover evenly.
- Bake 30-35 minutes.
This was an extremely easy recipe to prepare. It was very filling and quite tasty. This will go into my recipe file for those days when I want to make a hot filling meal without all of the hassle.
I've made several Bisquick pie recipes, and I was excited to find a pizza one. It was very good, but it seemed a bit bland and after 40 minutes, the mix was only half solid. I think next time I will make in a pie pan so it's not as deep and maybe reduce to 1/2 mix and 1 cup milk as I do in my other recipes. Also, I plan to add seasoning to the meat (I added garlic salt on top of the sauce but the meat needed more flavor). Also, I put a little cheese on top and put it back in the oven to melt. It was good and has been added to my cookbook.
Very Simple, tastes good. As others I could really see adding in your favorite pizza toppings: onions, green peppers, pepperoni, mix in sausage with the beef, mushrooms, or whatever fancies you. Only thing was, I used Bisquick and I think the 1.5 cups of milk was a bit too much. it made the whole thing very milky, looked horrible, but still stated okay. Perhaps cut it down to 2/3 cup milk if using Bisquick?
