Simple Italian Grilled Cheese

"This is a nice change from regular grilled cheese. A lot of adults get tired of regular grilled cheese by the time they have kids, this is one that you and your kids will love as well. You can cook them under your broiler if you wish, but be careful they will burn easily! :) You could also serve these as a side dish with Italian pasta instead of garlic bread!"

 1. A different way for grilled cheese sandwiches, but definately well enjoyed and liked the idea of marinara sauce. Made for I recommend..

 2. Yummy! We had ours with some minestrone soup! Thanks for the recipe. :)

 3. Really, really good. I did mine in the oven on a cookie sheet. I also added some fresh chopped basil between the cheese layers. We all gobbled them up! Thanks.

 4. Beats regular grilled cheeses by a mile! Why didn't I think of this before? I love tomato on grilled cheese sandwiches but this was much better. Mozzarella had a great texture, like a pizza sandwich! I thought adding an Italian herb to the cheese was a great idea so I did that too. I used garlic salt because I ran out of powder. This was so cool and easy. I wish my mom thought of making this when I was a kid, heheh. I'll make this again! Thanks Red Chef Mama!

 5. Another RZ chef & I recently had an exchange about how we both view a grilled cheese sandwich as the ultimate comfort food & how fun it is to find new recipes of the genre that go outside the norm. This is *great* & another I will suggest to her. I assembled the sandwiches in the pan, dusted the cheese w/the garlic powder + an Italian herb blend & slapped the lid on them! So easy & we savored ea bite slathered w/the marinara sauce that makes it a taste sensation & should not be skipped IMHO. Thx for sharing this great sandwich w/us. :-)

 1. Great tasty sandwich, quick. I used garlic butter on the outsides of the bread instead of butter and garlic powder, also I added a thin slices of pepperoni inside the sandwich. Thanks Red Chef Mom! Chili Spice

I live in Kansas with my hubby and our two beautiful babies. The one thing I told my husband when we got together was he could not be a picky eater and he has to do the dishes!! :) I figured I should change this because it said I work at home and I recently got a job at a fabulous salon/spa. I am skin care specialist (Esthetician) there, and I love it. My hours are flexible so I still get to spend plenty of time with my kiddo's and of course on recipezaar every chance I get! I grew up with a mother that doesn't like to cook so I basically learned how to cook on my own when I was out of the house :) I didn't know I would like to do it so much! Oh, and "Red Chef Mama" is because I have all red in my kitchen (towels, plates, untensils, you name it) and of course I'm a mom! :)
