I had this in a local coffee shop and became hooked. However, I couldn't always get there to have some, and it was a bit pricey, so I thought maybe I could duplicate it. This is the result and it's quite good, easy and cheap. I guessed on the size of the tea packets, really...they don't exactly label those! Note, chai teas usually contain a bit of caffeine.
- Boil water.
- Pour 6 oz. water into mug along with 1 packet chai tea.
- Let steep for a few minutes.
- As much as possible, remove and squeeze out tea packet to get all the goodness.
- Add chocolate mix packet.
- Stir well and enjoy.
This is so simple that I wish I had thought of it first! What a great way to use the bland, watery chai tea bags to their best advantage. This adds a nice subtle spice to hot chocolate. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing this great idea.
Now this is a great cup of chai tea! Its smooth, flavorful and it fulfills my chocolate craving. As my DD says, "!t's Very Tasty!' I used the Oregon Chai Latte powdered packet and I added 10 ounces of water. A perfect pick-me-up in the afternoon. Yummy! This recipe was tagged in the Comfort Cafe tag game.
