This recipe comes from my Grama...it's so simple, but it's VERY yummy!
- Put cabbage in a pot and fill enough water to ALMOST cover the cabbage.
- Pour in the vinegar, sugar, and bacon grease.
- Cook on Med-hi/Med for 45 min (covered, but cracked), stirring occasionally.
- Check cabbage after 25 min to check for additions of water/sugar/vinegar.
My DH won't eat raw cabbage so this is one way i often make it. It's a good quick side dish. I sometimes add chopped onion to the bacon. He told me to give you 10 stars just because. Hope others give it a try. Great with any meat or just in a bowl,lol!
