This was really good! I cooked it about an hour and a half, prepared as written. I think it would have been perfect if I had taken it off the burner 15 minutes earlier, as it was, it was a tad bit dry, but still very good. (Also depends on how long you brown it) The sauce was sweet, but not too sweet. Even my 4 year old liked it. I served it with green beans and rice. This one's a keeper!! Thanks a million!

I followed the instructions for simmering the steak on the stovetop for 2 hours. The steak was tender. I added about 1/4 c. red wine during the last half hour of cooking.

I prepared this tonight. I didn't find the flavor of the sauce to be outstanding. It was good, but not something that I would crave or even recommend to others as an outstanding meal. I may make it again because it was easy and the meat was tender. Round steak must be simmered or slow roasted in order to produce a tender final product. This recipe worked well for that. My dissatifaction was just a personal preferance.

The spicy, sweet sauce is what makes this delicious. My family likes it with mashed potatoes. Be sure to cook the meat until it gets very tender and the sauce thickens.
