I saw this on Paula Deen also. This is now a staple with our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. My son requested them for his 18th birthday. These are AWESOME! Our family loves them.
I just made this yesterday for Thanksgiving dinner, and everyone went bonkers over it. It makes double the amount of servings listed (no one could possibly eat two halves in one sitting). The only change I made was to use seven potatoes instead of six (which didn't lessen the flavor at all), and I used a pound of bacon (fried up and crumbled) instead of the shrimp. I will definitely make this again, but only for holidays as it is pretty labor intensive . TIP: Make sure you have a BIG bowl for mixing.
I have made this several times, also saw Paula make it. I only make it for special dinners as it's not even close to lo-cal but sooo good. Everytime I serve it I gave raves for it.
Excellent, Deen and her "buuuutttter" strike again. Worth every calorie.
My fiance's favorite. I have a little difficulty when scooping the potato out and it's not as neat as I'd like it, but the results are always VERY tasty, no matter what! We like to add bacon bits as well.
Just had to rate this recipe. I made these also and they are great. I recommend them to everyone. Thanks for posting this great recipe.
