I used this recipe and it was exactly what I needed. None of the chinese places up here have it! Now, where do I find Kim's egg roll recipe to go with it?!

I just made this sauce...while I haven't been to Kim's in many years (and they closed several years ago) this sauce is quite good...it can't be whisked, it has to be blended in a blender or food processor...I did have another recipe that was from the newspaper in Medford, OR which is the same as this one, with the exception of the addition of 1/4 cup of an egg substitute (it called for 1 lg egg, but with the salmonella issues the egg substitute would be better). I didn't have the egg substitute so left it out, and used a combination of dry mustard and spicy mustard. Good sauce just the same!

I used to work at Kim's in Medford and this is no where near that recipe. I tried this one and threw it out. Nice try but it's not the same. Not even close.

I go to the China Hut in Grants Pass, Or. last night and order a large Mar-Far Chicken with Pork Fried Rice to go. Huge portions, so it's gonna be dinner, breakfast and maybe a later snack. I always request; "Plenty of pink sauce, please". I get all the way home to discover she gave me one tiny solo-cup thing with maybe enough pink sauce to fill a teaspoon. I decide to go online and search for a quick pink sauce recipe and POOF! It cracked me up when I clicked and learned this recipe is from Kim's in Medford, Or., a place I'd loved to eat for 30 years. Their food and sauces were outstanding. I think they closed in 2005 or so. I made this sauce recipe last night and it's the stuff. Absolutely delicious. I later added a pinch of fine-ground black pepper. Yum.

GOD BLESS YOU PEOPLE!! Thank you for this recipe! I live in the SF Bay Area now, but have been dreaming dreaming dreaming of Kim's in Medford. It breaks my heart that they are gone now. I can't tell you how many half-a-number-nine's (half order of #9: Mar Far Chicken, Fried Rice, Fried Shrimp - swimming in the shrimp sauce) I have put away over the years.

Really fond memories of that place and this sauce. Thank you so much for putting it up for the rest of us.

This is all right but not the sauce at our local Chinese restaurants. Each restaurants sauce is slightly different between the restaurants. I have never been to a restaurant where the sauce taste like this. Something is still missing. Oh the search continues.
