Shrimp Fried Rice My Way

"From Kraft Food & Family. I adjusted this recipe a little. Very versatile. Original recipe called for 1/2 cup of peas which my husband hates. You could add any vegetable or seafood you wanted which is why I liked this one."

  • Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add ham, bacon and vegetables; cook 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add shrimp; cook and stir 4 minutes or until shrimp turn pink.
  • Stir in rice, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and egg; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until egg is set and ham mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally.

He's a good sport with my recipe experiments. Most of the time he likes what I make. I can always tell 'cause if he doesn't like it he won't go for seconds which he almost always does.</span></p> <p><span style=color: #993366;>I have 2 stepsons that are all grown up. One is in college &amp; the other is in the Army. I'm very proud of both of them. I love to bake but don't do it much anymore since there's only 2 of us.</span></p> <p><span style=color: #993366;>I'm trying to cook a little more healthy. That can really be a challenge. I love the recipes on this site. So many ideas! The one thing I really don't like to do though is use low or no fat stuff. Most of it is just yucky!!<br /></span></p>
