  1. This is good as a shrimp mousse BUT even better if you replace shrimp with 2, 6 oz. cans crab meat. Excellent!

  2. This really is an excellent recipe! And to make it even tastier, try using a 3 oz. package of lemon jello instead of the unflavored gelatin, it's even better!

  3. I first got this from my MIL who neglected to give the entire recipe. She wrote out 1 can of shrimp. No wonder mine tasted so bland. Then I found it in an Ideals Christmas cookbook and read the proper recipe. Also use the most true tomato tasting soup you can find. Campbells works really well.

  4. I received this recipe from my mother many years ago with a couple of differences. My recipe calls for heating the tomato soup, cream cheese, and unflavored gelatin together. Besides the celery, onion, and shrimp, my recipe calls for chopped green pepper with the mayonaisse. I have served this as a mousse with crackers. It is especially good with Ritz Crackers.

  5. It is actually a recipe for Shrimp Mousse, it should be poured into a greased mold, refrigerated then unmolded onto a serving plate. It really would not freeze well because of the ingredients.
