Shrimp a La King

"I love cooking with soups. Sometimes I like making recipes from scratch but when in a hurry soup does the trick. This comes out of an old Campbell's cookbook called "Cooking with Soup". This is a fast and easy recipe to make and tastes great to boot. I know cream of shrimp soup is expensive but try not to substitute for another cream soup. It just won't taste the same."

ingredients

• 236.59 ml onion, chopped
• 113.39 g can sliced mushrooms, drained
• 29.58 ml butter or 29.58 ml margarine
• 297.66 g can cream of shrimp soup
• 118.29 ml milk
• 236.59 ml cooked shrimp, diced
• 4 slice toast or 709.77 ml cooked rice

directions

1. Cook onion and mushrooms in butter until onion is tender.
2. Add soup, milk and shrimp.
3. Heat until hot, stir often.
4. Serve over toast or rice.
5. If desired, omit onion and mushrooms; substitute 1/4 cup diced green pepper and 1 Tb chopped pimiento.
