We used this marinade for chicken kabobs (with red onion, green pepper and fresh pineapple) - WOW! It was fabulous! The only change I made was that I didn't marinade the veggies. Instead, I brushed the marinade over the whole kabob before grilling. The marinade is sweet, but not too sweet! (If that makes any sense!) Combined with that fabulous grilled flavor, it was wonderful! Thank you so much for a great recipe that I can make without an extra trip to the store!
Marinade was absolutely delicious! I doubted it would be when I first mixed it up but when I mixed it with the veggies for a few hours and cooked it.....WOOHOO! I surely will make this often! As far as salty.....don't know why anyone tasted that unless they skimped on the sugar part of the recipe. We added pineapple to the mix as well as pieces of steak. Next time........we'll try shrimp. I made a meal out of my skewer. Incidentally.....we got surprise company while making these......and they were thrilled with the taste! You guys did good!!!!!! Thanks Food.com! I've been using your recipes for a very long time and have made super dishes! - Marsha Eichner
Good and simple.
I've been using this recipe for at least three years. It's amazing! So simple too. It's a summertime family favorite in my house.
So easy to make. I made the glaze in advance and tasted it. Thought it would be great for a family reunion and it sure was great. The shishkabob's went so fast and I got a lot of great compliments. I added pineapple to my shishkabob's and I even made a shishkabob's of nothing but pineapples and the taste was amazing!!!!! Thank you for sharing!
This marinade is DELICIOUS! Who would guess that soy sauce, sugar and ketchup would make a mouthwatering combination!!! I used half sugar and half brown sugar and added a dash or two of cayenne pepper. This is recipe has been placed on the list of my "bests".
This recipe was easy and outstanding. Made one batch marinated overnight and one marinated for 3 hrs. Both came out great and everyone loved it. Even guys were asking me for the recipe.
So tasty and juicy! I frequently drenched the skewers with the leftover marinade as I turned them on the upper grill rack repeatedly for about 15 minutes at medium-high heat with the cover down for most of the cook time. I used whole cherry tomatoes, halved cremini mushrooms and green peppers, red onion, and chicken thigh meat all cute into nice chunks and threaded them onto metal skewers. Thanks for this incredible home-run recipe!
This was a hit at our house. Even my picky kids loved it. Super easy and super yummy! :-)
Yes this marinade is delicious! My family and I loved it and it is so easy to make. Will be using this recipe for many years to come. Thank you jenjill!
