Fantastic....just like Moms! The gallon bag makes this so easy and much less messy. I used plain salt but can't wait to try with your seasoning salt recipe. Nice and dry when done. Tasty. I added about 20% flour to the cornmeal. Cajun seasoning and just coated in a bowl. I only coated the skillet with oil.
This is the way we make our fried okra, too, except we season it with plain salt rather than seasoned salt. We'll have to give that a try! Thanks for posting.
Yes Indeed! This is the way you fry okra. This was the only way my grandmother made okra (I don't think she had seasoned salt but she just used plain salt) and I din't know you could use okra any other way till my teen years. I know that we rarely had leftovers and if there were I always claimed them. I can no longer get fresh okra (I now live in Canada)so I wonder if you could fry the frozen kind?
