Shepherd's Pie

"One of my daughter's favorite mommy food. Now having to cook for herself, it was first on her list of recipes she had to have. She made it for her college roommate who is from England. Her roommate said it couldn't be shepherd's pie without lamb -- but she's requested it for dinner many times saying its a good American substitute for home."

  1. very good, super easy to make. Only change I made was adding shredded cheddar cheese on top of hamburger and then added the potatoes. Family really liked it.

  2. This was really good! And easier than my usual recipe...I like using the instant mashed potatos instead of having to make them from scratch like I usually do.

  3. Delicious and soooo easy! I wanted a very simple version of shepherd's pie to make tonight and this was exactly what I was looking for. My gravy bubbled up over my potatoes a bit - I may have needed to use a larger casserole dish (I used a deep 8x8). I was not sure about the rosemary but added it anyways and it added a nice flavor. I think I might add a bay leaf as well next time. Thanks!

  4. My nana (Grandma) used to make this when I was little. Now that she's over 300 miles away and getting on in her years, she can't write her recipes down and mail them to me so I'm glad to be able to find this one here and I hope my boys like it at least as much as i did growing up :)
