Shell's Spicy Cole Slaw

"This is always a hit everytime I make it. I've had non-cole slaw people Love this recipe! It is always requested for B-B Ques... If you do not like Spicy stuff at all, omitt the tabasco and cayanne pepper."

• Ingredients: 14
• Yields: 1 cup
• Serves: 8-10

ingredients

• for the salad

• 1 large head cabbage, sliced very thin and then cut in smaller pieces
• 3 green onions, sliced thin
• 354.88 ml shredded sharp cheddar cheese

• for the dressing

• 236.59 ml mayonnaise
• 9.85 ml mustard
• 9.85 ml Worcestershire sauce (Lea & Perins)
• 4.92 ml salt
• 0.25 ml garlic powder (about an 1/8 of a teaspoon)
• 4.92 ml pepper
• 0.25 ml chili powder (about an 1/8 of a teaspoon)
• 14.79 ml chopped parsley
• 4.92 ml crystal extra hot sauce
• 1.23 ml cayenne pepper (if you like it spicy)
• 14.79 ml fresh lemon juice

directions

1. In a large bowl, Toss the salad ingredients gently to mix.
2. whisk together the dressing ingredients in a separate bowl.
3. Add to the salad and fold in until thoroughly mixed, this will take a bit. Then chill for 30 minutes to an hour before serving.

When making this I did leave out the hot sauce & used just 1/8 teaspoon of the cayenne pepper, while everything else was included, & we had a wonderfully tasty coleslaw & one I'll be making again, for sure! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this fall's round of Pick A Chef]

This coleslaw is so good. The cheese is a nice addition to it. My first time in a coleslaw. My son of 6 years old liked it also. It's not sweet but just a bit spicy. Thanks Shellbel :) Made for PAC Fall 2011
