I had never had lamb before getting married, and this is one of the first recipes I tried. Fantastic. I have tried several recipes since, but the way all of this works with the flavors of the lamb is just perfect. I prefer a stronger marinade flavor so I tend to mix the marinade and place the meat in it before I leave for work, then cook it for dinner when I get home. I have also noticed that red wine substitutes well for the red wine vinegar when I am out of r.w.v.
Great marinade! The weather decided we shouldn't grill, so we baked these in the oven - still very good and so lovely and tender. Thank you for the recipe, mabers!
This recipe is delicious. Will be making again definitely. thanks for posting
Amazing, what a treat. I bought fresh lamb chops at the local PCC market, made a greek salad w/ feta cheese on the side. Def. 5 stars.
Delish! I love lamb, but usually add rosemary to my marinade. The thyme was a nice change of pace. I marinated mine for about 2 hours and then grilled them outdoors. Thanks for sharing this keeper, mabers. Made for P_A_R_T_Y event.
I'm not a big fan of lamb because of the gamey flavor. However, hubby likes it, so I cook it sometimes. I had about a 1 pound part of a lamb roast and sliced it into steaks then marinated in this. Then I grilled them on a dry stove-top griddle with high heat. Wow! This marinade turned that yukky meat into some succulent heaven. This is certainly a keeper of a recipe. It totally changed the flavor of the meat - totally removed all that gaminess and transformed it into sweet deliciousness.
FAB-U-LOUS! I ended up marinating overnight due to unexpected dinner plans and turned out perfect, the flavors weren't too overpowering. The chops were tender, juicy and so flavorful. I agree with Chef Wahoo....4 star restaurant quality all the way! This is a keeper.
The ease of this recipe is as fabulous as the flavor! I made it before, but forgot to rate it. I did marinate the chops for about three hours, and sutstituted the same amount of crushed rosemary for the thyme. Yum! DH grilled them on the rare side and they were perfect for us. If you like lamb at all, you are going to be very pleased with these! Thank you for posting this exceptional recipe!
I marinated it for 2hours, add and extra 1/8 tsp of thyme, do it on pan-fried; my boyfriend said it is so yummy and asking for the next time before he finished the dish.
All I can say is WOW! I made this for my stepmom (who is an amazing cook) and she was thrilled. I marinated it for about 4 hours and my husband grilled it for about ten minutes. The only change I made was to use rosemary instead of thyme. AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing!
