Shawna's Canned Apple Pie Filling

My go to recipe for canning apples for later use. The kids tell me it tastes like McDonald's apple pie but i wouldn't go so far as to call it a copycat. I love that it uses cornstarch for gelling rather than actual gelatin as this reduces the cost of processing large amounts of fruit. Note: I qt of filling equals 1 9 in pie


  1. Mix all ingredients except lemon juice in a large stock pot and simmer on medium heat until thick. Stir often!
  2. Remove from heat and add lemon juice.
  3. Place into canning jars and process in canner for 20 minutes.
