this was such a huge hit w/ my picky family! smelled soooooo good while it was cooking and tasted out of this world. this is going into our favorites file. one mistake i did was pour all of the soy in instead of SLOWLY doing so. resulted in me mixing ALOT. next time i'll listen to directions. followed everything to the T and now one of our favorite meals. too bad it has so much fat..but it's so darn delicious we don't care.

I can certainly understand why this is Shanna's favorite....it is positively wonderful! And it's very simple to prepare, and bakes up rather quickly. Thanks for sharing your recipe, 2Bleu. And thanks for the backgrund on Chicken Kiev. Made for "Please Review My Recipe" tag game.

I used low sodium soy sauce with great results!

Wonderfully, naughtily (I refer to the fat content!) delicious chicken which I'll certainly make again probably mainly when serving guests and on occasions when I throw health concerns to the winds for the sheer joy of the herbed butter indulgence. Not like the chicken kiev I've eaten in various restaurants in that they've invariably been crumbed and I've never eaten a chicken kiev with soy sauce among its ingredients. The soy sauce (I used a low sodium soy sauce) blended superbly with the garlic and parsley and gave this a very distinctive flavour. Easy to follow instructions: always such a plus! I made this exactly to the recipe: the presence of the soy sauce left me unsure of what other herbs to add. But when making this again, I'll be confident that this dish really doesn't need any additional herbs. Thanks for sharing this recipe, 2Bleu. Made for PRMR.

What a wonderful recipe. The soy sauce seemed a lot when I was putting it together but it worked perfectly once cooked. Like others I served over rice to soak up all the yummyness! Thank you so much 2Bleu!

Made this for dinner tonight and it was fantastic! I made as directed only used dried parsley because that's what I had. It was still delicious and will be a meal I make again. Served with rice that we drizzled with butter drippings from the pan. DH said, "You need to give this one a high rating!" Thanks 2Bleu for sharing this family favorite.

4 Stars, delicious, used the herb butter in this recipe and served with steamed rice and steamed broccoli. DH said, "Don't lose this recipe!" The ingredients made twice as much herbed butter as needed; I was able to mix with a fork until I added the soy sauce, then the electric beater finished the job. I used thinly-cut chicken cutlets so I wouldn't have to pound. Great for prepare-ahead dinners. Made for Please Review My Recipe.

This is superb! I should have made it sooner! I followed your recipe as is but using your recommended Recipe #266054 for the seasoned butter. I used also an icing pipe without the ends to make the logs of butter. Love the bit of crunch of the herb butter seasoning on top of the chicken after it was baked and the taste of garlic butter with herbs in this chicken dish! Thanks, 2Bleu!

This is a very tasty dish and has a lovely presentation and is very easy to prepare. It's a bit on the rich side for our family so while we won't be having this as a regular weekly meal, we will be enjoying from time to time especially if having company over. The butter drippings were very tasty spooned over mashed potatoes. I rolled the butter mix up into a square log shap on a length of parchment paper and put in the freezer instead of the fridge. This really helped with dividing it up into 8 equal portions and also for being able to work with it.

We have just devoured this for dinner and it is nothing like any chicken kiev I have tasted, it stands out by itself (I think you sent the DM to heaven - she was looking for more). We drizzled the juices over the chicken and vegetables and still had to get some buttered bread to mop up the last of them (couldn't waste it). I did 5 chicken breasts weighing 110 grams each (just under 4oz) and used less than half the butter, I also had no problem mixing all the soy in - I mixed all the dry ingredients first into very soft butter and slowly added the soy beating well between each addition, I then put it into the fridge to firm up and then rolled into a log (in plastic wrap) and then froze it. When I went to use it several hours later it was just a matter of cutting of the slices I required. I have frozen the rest to use later (think it would be nice on a steak). Thank you 2Bleu (Bird&Buddha) for a keeper. Made for Please Review My Recipe. UPDATE put the butter under the breasts and drumsticks and thighs of a whole chicken and roasted - delicious. And yes it is great on steak.

This was really good. I followed the recipe except that I doubled everything, using boneless chicken cutlets. I also used lite soy sauce as that is all I buy. Everyone enjoyed this and wished I would have made more! I had never had chicken kiev before so have nothing to compare it to but we loved this!

All the adults (4 in all) loved it, then 13 year old stepson liked it and 7 year old daughter ate it without complaint (which is big by itself). It is a very pretty dish. My best friend made it at my house, I just helped. But it is fairly easy to do. We made 6 breast but didnt change any other amounts butter or otherwise. I suggest being careful about the sprinkling of the flour before placing the butter in the breast. If you sprinkle a little heavy it can be a little doughy. Served with brown rice and candied carrots. All went well together. My girlfriend took a copy of the recipe home and intends to share with other friends. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Thanks for sharing. This made an excellent sunday dinner. The flavor blends were exceptional. One you're definitely not being calorie conscience about but would make a very nice Christmas time meal.

We had this for dinner last night, what a hit. The kids loved it wanted more. I made 8, I had 4 large boneless breasts, cut each breast 1/2 in half because they were so big. With the soy sauce this is big on taste too. I did dredge in bread crumbs, parmesan and spice mixture. My son was upset he didn't have any to take for work for lunch. I guess I'll have to make it again.

I made tbis today for dinner just for myself so I scaled it down to one. I used margine instead of butter. I served this over some brown rice for an excellent meal. I love this version of chicken kiev! The soy sauce adds a great flavor to this chicken.
