Shake-N-Bake Chicken

"I think this is much better than the stuff you buy from the store. It has much more flavor. It's a quick meal when you don't have time or don't know what else to make... very, very tasty! I used boneless chicken breasts."

 1. What a great idea Vicki. We really enjoyed this. Because DH, for health reasons, is not allowed any oil or fat in his diet, I had to make some changes. As I couldn’t add the oil I used egg whites, lightly beaten, to dunk the chicken in prior to shaking in the herb mix. Then I used a pastry brush to paint on a little chicken stock on the top of the chicken to moisten the crumbs – I didn’t want them too dry because I couldn’t use the oil. It turned out fine and because we liked the idea so much I used it with fish, just changing the seasonings a little to suit - omitting some and adding lemon pepper - and it worked great. Thanks so much for a great recipe, I have used it a couple of times already. I know it would be even better your way and certainly easier but it was still great.

 2. I gave this recipe 4 stars. My fanily really enjoyed this recipe. I made this when I found I had no shake n bake. I was very surprised it was just like shake n bake. I followed the recipe almost exactly except I didn't use the olive oil and I just coated my chicken with the coating. Overall I nwill make this again! Thanks for posting such a yummy recipe! 3. "It's Shake-N-Bake and Thor hepped". Very tasty and easy. Thor likes skin so I used bone-in chicken breasts. Had a little trouble getting the mixture to stick so next time I will try oiling the chicken then shaking, instead of adding the oil to the mixture. Thanks, VickyJ!! I see more chicken in our future.

 4. vicky, this recipe was really very good.the reason i gave it 4 *'s.i had to make a couple of substitutions, first i only had garlic butter flavored ritz crackers,so i cut back the garlic powder to 1 tsp. and i only had canola oil so that's what i used. and no whole wheat flour,so i used the same amount of self-rising.and you were so right on the baking time for boneless chicken.i served this with recipe#26306 and turnip greens w/diced bacon.this will be made again.thank you for posting.

Hello! I am a resident of WA state, and I must say I love it here.... especially where coffee flows so freely! I live with my SO, Mark, and he has lived here since 2001 (originally from San Diego, CA). We live a quiet life and enjoy just about anything outdoors. I love to travel... sometimes just to pick a spot on the map and make a weekend out of it. Since I have been here, some of my favorite places to visit are Oregon and Washington (Cle Elum, Leavenworth, Spokane, Bonney Lake, Maple Valley, Issaquah, etc). My favorite place in Seattle is Pike Place Market, even though I don't get there often. And, Mt. Rainier is a scene I often photograph. Originally, I am from Jamestown, NY home of She is loved by all that live there and the surrounding areas! There was a question posted in one of the forums about who I would love to have for dinner, right now. I answered God, Jesus, my mom, Grandma Lundin, Grandpa Lundin and Aunt Sig. They are my role models in life. Each has molded me into the person I am now. My fondest memories are spending Thanksgiving and Christmas-time at my Grandma's house, and the whole family around. SO MUCH good food! I lived in that small city my whole life and graduated from high school just outside of town. I have a strong restaurant background.. everything from Pizza Hut to a local italian restaurant called Vullo's. It seems, though, I have a passion for machining technology, even though I didn't go to school for that. I grew up with a local manufacturer of machine/tooling systems soldering/wiring circuit bds and assembling whole systems. That wasn't enough for me so, I went to college and obtained my AAS in Electrical Technology. The same company hired me back to work in their service dept as a technician. I had planned to go further to become an electromechanical engineer for the company, but I was laid off. I have been out of it so long, I would probably have to start over from scratch.. .that is the problem with electronics/technology.
