Yummy and easy to make. We have a favorite like this but we have never had mini chocolate chips before. My DS said he really like the addition. Made for PRMR.
Oh My Yummy Goodness. Well lets see now, I used a heart healthy margarine, Splenda for the sugar, 98% fat free cream cheese, Cool Whip Light, Sugar free/fat free puddings, skim milk and shaved 70% chocolate in the dessert as well as on top. Ok, that said, This was smooth, creamy, kinda fluffy (it's hard to make cream cheese and pudding fluffy, lol), and downright delicious. :D
I cut the sugar down by 1/2 and I used a premade pie crust, but I should have made one as it was not quite big enough to put the lid on. The instructions did not say what to do with the chocolate chips so I put them in the vanilla layer. It well deserves its name. A keeper recipe but not to have too often as it is very very rich. My son insisted upon color sprinkles instead of chocolate shavings.
I made this for a friend who has just had surgery and DH and I took dinner out to them on Wednesday night! This got rave reviews all around! I did cheat a little and bought a premade crust from the store (one less dish for his wife to have to wash and return)! I can't wait to make this easy-peasy dessert again! made for Holiday Tag April 2010!
Made this recipe with, I"m sure, a few changes from what was intended ~ I wanted a large pie so used a 10" pie plate & increased the amounts of graham cracker crumbs & margarine in order to make a complete crust! Then I followed the recipe, with one more exception ~ I added a 2nd layer of the chocolate pudding mixture, spreading a chocolate layer between the cream cheese layer & the vanilla pudding layer, & topping it all off with the final chocolate layer! I left the 2 cups of Cool Whip & chocolate shavings on the side so each person could have as little or as much of those as they wanted ~ Me, I was happy with none of the whip & just a bit of the shavings! Thanks for a great tasting chocolate fix! Don't know about the 'sex' part of it, but it was DEFINITELY A MOST SATISFYING DESSERT!
