Only the good stuff comes from our neck of the wood, and man oh man if you moved from new zealand and miss the good old sausage rolls from the dairy then make these and you will be in seventh heaven
- 1 lb sausage meat
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 tablespoons parsley
- 1 1⁄2 cups cooked rice
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (375 g) packetflaky pastry dough or 1 (375 g) packet phyllo pastry
- Mix all 1st ingredients.
- add pepper to taste.
- roll into two rolls and cover with.
- 1 packet flaky pastry or wrap on filo pastry.
- cook at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Thank you! I made standard small sausage rolls and adjusted my cooking time accordingly. I was actually looking for a way of using up cooked rice when I found this recipe but I was so thrilled with the outcome that I've cooked more rice and made two more batches for the kids lunches and an afternoon tea. Excellent, different and economical. Great work!
These were very tasty, although i originally started to make two rolls as the recipe states, but they were huge. So I ended up dividing them into about 6 smaller ones. I am already planning on making them again. Thanks for this one, its a keeper.
